Blockchain and AI tech to accelerate EV battery-swapping networks

By mfroese | August 6, 2025

U Power Limited, a provider of AI-powered solutions for energy grids and electric vehicle (EV) transportation systems, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Business Cooperation Agreement with IoTeX, a blockchain platform focused on transforming machine-generated data into collective intelligence for AI.

The agreement builds on U Power’s proprietary UOTTATM battery-swapping technology for EVs and aims to accelerate the development of smart, connected infrastructure for electric mobility.

As part of the Strategic Partnership, IoTeX will purchase real-world assets (RWAs) issued by U Power and backed by corporate bonds. These proceeds are expected to support the continued expansion of U Power’s battery-swapping network and strengthen the company’s capital position.

The two companies will collaborate on the tokenization of these RWAs, applying blockchain and AI to create scalable, transparent digital assets that support the growth of EV infrastructure. This includes real-time battery tracking, performance monitoring, and secure data exchange. These are core components for the operation of decentralized, AI-integrated battery-swapping stations.

The partnership is supported by HabitTrade, a global multi-asset trading and infrastructure platform, which is acting as the structuring and execution agent for the token-equity integration. HabitTrade will provide strategic and technical support to ensure a compliant and efficient transaction process.

“By integrating our AI-powered battery-swapping stations with a decentralized IoT infrastructure, we can ensure real-time monitoring for safety, energy efficiency, and long-term performance,” said Johnny Lee, CEO and chairman of U Power. “This collaboration advances our mission to build a smart and sustainable ecosystem for electric vehicles.”
